Frequently asked questions

How far away can you scan a DuraTraq QR tag?

Scan distance depends on tag size: 2×2 inch tags scan from 2–4 feet, 2.5×2.5 inch from 3–5 feet, and 3×3 inch from 4–6 feet. All tags use high error correction for reliable scanning in field conditions.

Do I need an app to scan DuraTraq tags?

No. DuraTraq tags work with the built-in camera on any modern smartphone or tablet. Scanning opens the asset profile directly in the browser — no app download, no login required.

How are DuraTraq tags mounted to equipment?

Mounting options vary by material. Stainless steel tags support industrial adhesive, single-hole (for chain or wire), and 4-hole (for screws, rivets, or tack welding). Acrylic tags support adhesive. Polyester labels are self-adhesive and conform to curved surfaces.
